and remain as warm memories
long after they have been spoken."
Please feel free to leave comments, share stories, pictures and tell us of the connection you have with everyone's best friend Diana...
Diana, my dear friend.
ReplyDeletefriend...one attached to another by affection.
sincere...marked by genuineness.
hearty...honesty, warmth, and exuberance in displaying feeling. These words describe Diana.
Becoming friends together as new christians we desired to know God. Remember...Jay teaching us SFT during the same time... and Diana and I got the HolY Ghost and Guy and Bob finally got the Holy Ghost...on the same night! Through the years our families have shared together and have fond memories to cherish of times of ... home cooked meals, talking, laughing, weeping, singing, praying, God's word, our children, weddings, the birth of our grandchildren and praising God for our blessings. In lifes good times and the rough times loving one another as friends do. Then we have our sweet grandchildren together, Andrew & Alivia...the best ever!
We are blessed as family & friends.
I see God's love, grace & mercy more clearly
because of you and I thank God for you.
A friend loveth at all times, a brother is born for adversity. PROVERBS 17:17
Thank you, Diana ... for your true friendship of love and encouragement... my forever friend.
I love you,
Jan xo
Sis. Girourd, you blessed the lives of my children with you sweet, gentle spirit and they will never forget it. Thank you so much. It meant and still means more than you could possibly know. We love you!
ReplyDeletePamela and the kids!
Sis. Girouard,
ReplyDeleteI remember a conversation I had with my mother when I was a child like it was yesterday. I couldn't have been older than ten.
Me: Mom who will get to sit at God's right hand?
Mom: I am not sure. Why do you ask?
Me: I know who. It couldn't be anyone else but Sis. Girouard.
Thanks for being the nicest person I have ever known and for being such an awesome Sunday School Teacher.
See you soon,
Joel Riley
I remember running into Diana ("Sis. Girouard", always and forever in my mind), unexpectedly at Old Navy a few years back. She looked exactly the same as always... especially that amazing, beaming, constant smile she always wore so well.
ReplyDeleteI asked how she was doing and she hesitated a moment. She said she had been going through some sicknesses, but then she stopped. Her expression changed, and she immediately told me how good God has been to her and her family.
It was a conscious decision to change her path of conversation; of thought. But, indeed, it was effortless. I could see she has made that decision many times.. to focus on what is good in life and not what is difficult. I imagine she continues to do this, to this very day.
I cannot say my eyes are dry when I write this, because the thought of possibly losing her means losing a precious thread of my past's fabric... a very sweet part. "Loving" is the word that comes to my mind with her face. Ties that are made when we are young are not easily broken.
At Old Navy, she embraced me and treated me as her dear sister, even though I was in jeans and jewelry. There was no awkwardness... no judgement. I left my 15-minute visit with her refreshed, encouraged, and feeling loved.
Though I didn't know it then, I will treasure that small time with her that I hold in my heart and mind. She is a beautiful lady, and I am enriched thru knowing her.
May God bless each and every one who visits this beautiful page. I pray, daily, for your encouragement and strength.
Love,
-Diana (Duke) Andre
Diana & family,
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts & prayers are toward you today.

Sis. Diana,
ReplyDeleteYou were the first person who EVER had made me feel comfortable in their home. I have never felt such love and acceptance as when I have been blessed by your hugs. It is because of your and Guy's faithfulness to the Lord and your persistence that we as a family grew to understand how much the Lord cared for us. If it had not been for you both- we would still be lost and probably not have our marriage or our children. We miss you all so much and wish we could visit!
You are in our prayers and thoughts everyday!
-Sis. Amber Davis
Dear Sis. Girouard,
ReplyDeleteI can't even begin to describe what a blessing you are! I knew you first as my Sunday school teacher. As I grew up, and moved from your class, you continued to teach me the beautiful testimony of Jesus by just being you. I remember seeing you dance before the Lord for the first time. Your graceful movements were a perfect description of how I thought of you. Through every one of life's difficult moments, you just smiled and continued to dance. If I never get the chance to here, I look forward to the day when we can dance together over there...On the other side of sickness and pain! I love you, Sis. Girouard.

Sis. Girouard,
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say but Thanks for the boldness and desire to "do God's word" and to come "doorknocking" at our door in Sterling Heights. You and Sis. Lynn Kochajda(then) was bold enough , and then The two of you and Bro. Girouard came in and taught us Search for Truth. I received the Holy Ghost on the 6th lesson. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Our children grew up to know the Lord because of your dedication to the Lord's will and plan. I am greatful for you for all the "Sundays of dinners and fellowship".... to make sure we come back to evening service. You knew we probably wouldn't make it back to church. But you also had a Godly way of introducing us to many families at FACT. YOU ARE AWESOME, AND I WILL ALWAYS ALWAYS LOVE YOU. You and Bro. Girouard are the absolute best. I LOVE YOU BOTH SO VERY MUCH. YOU ARE BOTH IN OUR PRAYERS.
It was 20 years ago that we began our walk with the Lord. Thanks for giving to the Lord. I am so glad you gave. (Words from the song "Thank You")

Dear Sis Girouard,
ReplyDeleteYou are and always will be the sweetest, kindest "Friend of God I know"! From day 1 till the present day, you and Guy have been a light to my world. You were and always will be like mom and dad to me. Always encouraging, listening and telling me what the Word of God says about me. Diana, you made me feel welcome and loved, at a time when I was feeling very unloved. For that I say thank you! :~)
I will never forget the homegroup and the sense of "The Family of God" you gave to me. You always made me feel like family. When you came to my home, you taught the word of God with a meek and gentle spirit. Always know the countless saturday's you spent at my house were not in vain. Thank you for all you have been to me. I am praying for you and the whole family.
Love and Prayers,
Barbie Fritts
